With so many different regulators impacting this new industry, it is vital that the industry be represented by a truly independent body. Only 160 Characters is completely independent since we are not directly involved in the development or provision of services, enabling us to speak out on matters of concern to the industry be they providers of infrastructure, application developers, content owners or operators.

The EMA is the trade body for electronic money issuers and payment service providers. It was founded in 2001 and represents payment service providers in the UK, Europe and globally. It provides a forum for payment providers from different industry sectors: online payments, card payments, cash collection, money remittance and transport, to address areas of common interest. It is also the industry voice with regulators, government bodies and the public. We have 33 members who are engaged in the provision of payment services.

The Telecommunications United Kingdom Fraud Forum (TUFF) is a United Kingdom based Forum who provide an environment where members can exchange information and knowledge as it relates to the detection and prevention of fraud and crime within the telecommunications industry. Membership is open to companies whose core business is provision of telecommunications or telecommunications related (including equipment manufacturers) services.
